Fascination unable to dock in Jax

We've been having rough seas the past couple of days here in Jax.

Just saw over on the Royal Caribbean board that the Freedom of the Seas left yesterday but got into some rough weather (80 mph winds).....and had to cancel the 2nd dinner seating because the galley was trashed.

 

They held the Sensation and the Disney ship in port until this morning.

Due to adverse weather conditions, and the high tide this morning not allowing us to clear the Dames Point Bridge, the Carnival Fascination will be delayed arriving from its previous cruise. The ship is currently docked at the Jacksonville Cargo pier until the tide lowers and we can clear the bridge.

Debarkation will not commence until we are docked at the Jacksonville Cruise Terminal. We anticipate being docked alongside around 12:30 PM and debarkation will begin immediately.

For guest’s comfort and convenience, due to limited seating, we encourage guests to make plans to arrive at the terminal no earlier than 3:00 PM as check in will run from 3:00PM to 7:00 PM. Since we too will have to wait for the tide to lower in order to safely clear the bridge once we sail, we will delay our departure and are now scheduled to sail at 11:00 PM. At this time, the delay will have no impact on our scheduled itinerary.

Where did that official statement come from? We kept checking email for info. Now we are at the JAX zoo waiting to park for cruise - parking lot told us to come back at 2:00.

It is posted on the CCL site .. under where FAQ's. That is where they post all notices for delays

We got a phone call this morning stating basically wait until 3 to board. Really from 3 to 7.

I am sorry for all those on these affected cruises. Hopefully the weather will let up soon!!!

To the poster who was concerned the other day about the weather and I basically said don't worry- forgive me. I was wrong.

 

An extension of my cruise sounds great but not in nasty seas.

Here's a link to a video link with a woman calling from the ship before it docked. The woman already complaining that CCL didn't keep them in Nassau and that CCL isn't refunding any of the fare. :rolleyes:
