Delboy1 Posted October 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2011 Just back from our cruise on Silhouette to the Holy Land. Must congratulate Celebrity for its system of getting people off the ship for tours and final disembarcation. For tours as soon as a coach has required numbers you immediately board. No sitting in lounge waiting for everyone to check in. We were off the ship on last day in 3 minutes, re united with our luggage in two and out to our pre booked cab in one minute. We have been on much smaller ships and had to wait up to an hour.:)
Gracie115 Posted October 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2011 We also had the easiest debarkation ever on our Silhouette cruise which ended 9/27....off the ship, picked up luggage and on our way in less than 10 minutes!!! Ft. Lauderdale/Miami could learn lessons from how easily it's done in Rome!!
cody cruiser Posted October 13, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2011 Hi Delboy1, Could you please explain how you pre-booked a cab? We are sailing in and out of Ft. Lauderdale and have an early flight on disembarkation day. Thank you.
Gonzo70 Posted October 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2011 Hi Delboy1,Could you please explain how you pre-booked a cab? We are sailing in and out of Ft. Lauderdale and have an early flight on disembarkation day. Thank you. There are plenty of cabs at the cruise terminal in Fort Lauderdale and it is only a few minute ride; no need to pre-book (don't even know if that is possible there). In Rome the airport is about an hour away and prebooking transportation is essential. This is assuming you are flying out of FLL. If you are flying out of MIA then many people use a company called SAS for transportation (as it will be a lot cheaper than a cab ride to MIA). Lauderdale...Gonzo is right there are always cabs waiting outside the terminal in Ft Lauderdale, you shouldn't have a problem
