Ramada North Miami and Westland Mall

We just booked Ramada Miami North for our Dec 10 cruise on Liberty for $79.00 plus tax. I have been searching this forum for a place to stay with shopping and restaurants but couldn"t find what I was looking for. I found this area by searching Google Earth. We arrive at 2:30 Friday afternoon from STL. Trip advisor reviews are good, free shuttle to Hotel and Port, outdoor pool to try new mask and fins. We need to get Pepsi, beer for pool:), a cooler and any other thing we couldn't take on the plane. Westland Mall (95 stores) is across the street. There is a Red Lobster 1 block, Winn Dixie Pharmacy & Liquor or 3 blocks and Walgreens behind Winn Dixie. Google street view looks like a nice area to walk in. Couldn't ask for much more. It's not the Ritz but after a day of traveling, shopping and a 12 of pack Bud Light by the pool, I'll think it's the Ritz.:):):)

Hialeah wouldn't be my first choice, but it should do for a night. I don't think the port shuttle is free--for two or more, you might do as well or better in a cab. A good number of hotels are within easy reach of soda and other cruise essentials.

The Ramada Miami Airport North is in Hialeah, not in North Miami. Hialeah and North Miami are two totally different areas. It is not such a great area and there is nothing to see or do there, except the mall. I don't recommend walking around there at night either.
