POM to FLL 1140am flight okay?

Our ship coming from the Bahamas arrives at the POM at 700AM on a Friday morning (Nov 4). We are going to carry our luggage off as soon as we are allowed off and catch a SAS shuttle to FLL. Do you think an 1140AM flight will be okay? Otherwise the next flight is not until 400PM.

If everything goes perfectly fine you could make the flight. But this is not always the case. And while some of this is in the ships control much of it is not.

Have you looked at flights leaving out of Miami that are after 12:00 Noon but well before 4:00 PM?

Southwest does not fly out of Miami. We were thinking that since the ship arrives at 700am (and I wouldn't expect it to be late coming just from the Bahamas) that we could walk off with our bags hopefully by 830am. Be on the way to FLL by 900am and arrive around 1000am.

Your timeline is correct - on the road by about 0900 will get you there about 1000 for your 1140 flight, and 99% of the time this will work out just fine. As Keith pointed out, there's not much room for error in your plan, and if the ship is delayed (weather ) or held up for customs/immigration issues :(, you could be out of luck.

Good luck! :)

I'm in a similar situation arriving at Port Canaveral at 7am from Bahamas & my flight out of MCO is 11:40. Similar drive to airport on a Saturday morning. We will be doing carry on only, checking in from the ship the day before and doing self debark. Like you, we are taking a chance and both of us should be fine IF there are no customs issues and the ship is on time
