GlobalCurious Posted October 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2011 Anyone ever cruised in Medallion Suite #741 on the Silver Wind? I am looking for a larger suite and all are sold out on my sailing except for Medallion Suite #741 which is large (667 Sq Ft), but does NOT have a Balcony. Was in Silver Suite on the Whisper and loved it. Trying to decide if I should try it, or just book a Veranda Suite (295 sq ft). All pics on SS website show Medallion Suites with Veranda. To me a lot of the decision will depend on the itinerary -- North Cape -- no -- Caribbean -- possible. Where ya goin'?.......
duct tape Posted October 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2011 741 on the Wind is a beautiful Medallion Suite but you are correct, it has no veranda. If you are considering a Vista, see if 738 is booked. It is one of the add-ons, as is 741, and is very large. Enjoy!

GlobalCurious Posted October 18, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Duct Tape - have you stayed or been in either of those? 741 or 738? Was worried that 741 might have a "funky" layout because they were trying to fit it in what I guess was the Beauty Parlor.
newlondon Posted October 18, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Having cruised Venice to Istanbul-you will definitely want a verandah.
wripro Posted October 18, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2011 It's a personal decision. Which is more important to you, more interior space or a verandah? The Eastern Med is definitely one area I would prefer a verandah but that's me.
duct tape Posted October 18, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 18, 2011 GlobalCurious, I have seen both suites but have not stayed in either. 741 is very nice even tho' it is configured differently. I could easily be comfortable there if I had to! My spouse says I am a veranda snob!
GlobalCurious Posted October 18, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted October 18, 2011 Thanks for all your comments. I think I will stick with Veranda.

Randyk47 Posted October 21, 2011 #11 Share Posted October 21, 2011 We went with 804 for our Barcelona to Istanbul cruise. We did consider 741 as it's going to be late winter/early spring for our cruise and gave serious thought about the extra space. Turns out friends booked the same cruise and wanted to be close so they booked 802 next to us so it all worked out. Still in the back of my mind is the potentially limited use of our verandah due to weather and not a lot of sea days.
Saga Ruby Posted October 21, 2011 #12 Share Posted October 21, 2011 I prefer the term "Verandanista"! May I say how much I enjoy your humour and well-considered comments.
