Rare MMDown Under Posted October 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2011 More Cruises Cancelled by Voyages To Antiquity ! See Other Cruise Lines Thread. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1504811 This is just one of the reasons why I no longer book cruises far ahead. Such a disappointment for those who have booked and made travel plans.
lizzy77 Posted October 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2011 Oh how devastating for those who are booked on those cruises. Imagine how upset you would be if you had already booked air or used frequent flyer points:( I know Rugbypopsie is booked on one of those cruises but not the cancelled dates. Lucky Sue. The_Big_M Posted October 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2011 Yeah, it's at a minimum, annoying to happen and can be worse depending on what else you may have booked. I do at least credit their response by being a) honest in disclosing the reason and b) providing compensation. When this happened to me by P&O locally, all they said was the cruise is cancelled and gave no compensation (except a token OBC for re-booking), and asked me to re-book another cruise with the deposit I'd paid. Given the fares had gone up substantially on the alternative due to it being holidays and they said I had to pay current fares instead of what I'd originally booked at, there was a fat chance of that.
