Fantasy Pictures

Well, I never got around to writing a review on our September 5-day Fantasy cruise, but I did manage to get the pictures downloaded.

It was a good cruise overall; easy drive from Charlotte to Charleston and quick and easy getting into the port and to the terminal. Food was pretty good except for breakfast in the dining room.

Ports were as good as they can be...Freeport and Nassau, what can I say. If you've been there, you know what I mean.

It had been about 15 years since we'd been on the Fantasy and she was in pretty good shape for an old girl.

Thanks for sharing your pics. We are sailing on the Fantasy November 7th and we also had been on her about 16 years ago. Looking forward to being on her again. Was wanting to ask you about the hotel you went to. Can you tell me about that? Was it an excursion or did you just go there on your own by renting a room? It looked nice and so close to the port.

We went to the British Colonial Hilton. We did not rent a room. You can walk to it from the ship. It was not an excursion. We paid $55pp for the day and they gave you vouchers for towels and a $30 food voucher. We had lunch there and a few drinks and just laid around the pool and swam some. We've been to Nassau several times and it's not my favorite place to go, so this was a good option for us since we don't shop.

When we left there, we walked back through town to the ship just for a look at the place...that hasn't changed much.

I went on their website and it looks beautiful. We are not shoppers neither. Unfortunately they state that the pool will be closed the time that we are going to be there for refurbishment. We would really prefer the beach anyway but it looked rather small. Anyway, I think we will check into it. Thanks for your information!

Enjoyed your pics! We sail on Fantasy in 5 days and are very excited! A couple of questions if you don't mind: Did you use the gym, and was it crowded? Which night was formal night? What did you do in Freeport? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you...The second night was formal (this was a 5 day). I did not use the gym, but I did use the showers in the spa since they are larger than the ones in the cabins.

In Freeport we went to the Lucaya Marketplace, walked around a little and went to the casino across the street. Then we walked down passed the police station to the beach. That's where I got the pictures of the restaurant with the conch shells and the beach area. We went back to the ship around 1:00...since we're not into shopping the marketplace was a waste of our time. If you like shopping, there are lots of shops there.

I'm sure there are plenty of excursions and tours you can take. We took this cruise mostly to relax and not to rush for anything, so that's what we did, took it easy.
