lizziebargain Posted October 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2011 Does anyone know of any luggage storage either at the overseas passenger terminal or nearby at Circular Quay? I have read various posts about storage near the cnetral train station etc but we are hoping for something very handy to the OPT where we dock. Thanks
catl331 Posted October 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2011 Have you tried researching your question, or asking it on the Aus/NZ Ports of call forum ( http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=77 ) or the Aus/NZ cruisers forum ( http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=711 ) ? lizziebargain Posted October 25, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted October 25, 2011 So far my research has turned up a lot of conflicting info so was hoping to hear from somebody who had been in my situation recently. Thank you for pointing out these 2 forums as I was unaware of them! woodscruise Posted October 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Unfortunately no storage at OPT or Circular Quay. The nearest would be Central Station.
jayteeaitch Posted October 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2011 May I hang a similiar question on the OP's - and ref to HAL embarkation systems concerning baggage at Sydney OCT. Can I assume that - when one arrives at the OT - bags are checked in first - then you go thro' another process to board - eg security and check in etc. On this assumption - After you check in the bags - can you wander off for a short while - say for 1/2 hour or so - to maybe take some photos of the ship from over at the Opera house side - or grab a few bottles ( wine only) at the local bottle shop - have a cuppa with a friend across on Circular Quay. In other words - is it compulsory to follow the Bag Check in - immediately to security and general check in. I also assume - that once on the ship you can't get off again. aussiedisneyfan Posted October 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2011 For embarkation day you can drop your bags off in the morning and come back and actually check in later. Also HAL allows back off the ship once you are checked in and boarded. Last cruise we checked in and had some lunch and then when unpacking thought we had left the toiletries bag at home. Was easily able to get off and walk up to the supermarket to pick up supplies.

lizziebargain Posted October 25, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted October 25, 2011 For all your suggestions-we want luggage storage for a few hours when we disembark in the area of circular quay as we plan to tour for a few hours in that area before taking the train from circular quay to our next destination so the central train station is not so convenient-we can also ask on the ship if they know of anything nearby. We are just trying to avoid criss crossing town with our luggage if at all possible. Are you wanting storage when you arrive or depart? Central station is a distance from the OPT. Now thats what I call a real reply - definite - to the point - and from quite a bit of experience - Of HAL - and Volendam ----- apparently - and now you are trying the Zaandam You should be able to find your way around Thanks a Mill ADF
