ILoveCruiseShips Posted October 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2011 I never even thought of it when I booked this cruise that it would be an issue. Is it really that noisy...should we ask to move somewhere else. We had trouble getting two cabins close by and on the same floor as our friends who are coming with us. What time of night does it get quiet? Oh, no, I'm starting to panic.

I was above the casino bandstand on the Conquest, cabin 6371, and it was VERY noisy till about 2:00 AM. It sounded like the music was right in our cabin, because the speakers of the bandstand were mounted on the ceiling, which happens to be the floor of our cabin. The casino itself shouldn't be too bad but avoid being over the bandstand. Just to be sure, if you can move to a location where you have only cabins above and below you, that would be a better bet. ccruisequeen Posted October 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2011 I was under MDR on Paradise, & it was noisy for about a half hour while they cleaned up (scraping & dragging). There will probably be more noise from Disco, or if you're closer to elevator/stairs. We have 6325 booked on Splendor in May.
goofytoo Posted October 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2011 We were booked in 6361 on Carnival Liberty. Liked the location. One flight of stairs down and you were in the middle of everythng. The casino band was loud and disturbing until at least midnight. I think they played longer on somedays. We had a fan and ear plugs which pretty much blocked the music. However the music was so loud our beds actually vibrated from the sound waves. I know some people may like that but it drove me crazy. I did not get much needed relaxation that cruise. So if you are on the Liberty or a ship with a similar floor plan I suggest you move.
snedecor Posted October 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Been there, done that, never again! Not only will you "move and groove" with the music in the casino until late at night, and be able to hear the cheers of the temporary winners, you may also be able to enjoy the same cigarette smoke that the gamblers enjoy, as it rises and wafts into your room. I'd rather have an oceanview and a quiet cabin than a balcony and loud music vibrating my cabin until the wee hours of the morning...

You're on the other side of the ship from the casino area bandstand but, still, you should expect it to be loud unitl midnight or one o'clock... :)

Nancy Yes, the Valor....we are above the tip of the casino where the washrooms are. Gee I hope it's not that bad. However, I e-mailed our agent today to see if we can switch, but there are certain things we need, like adjoining rooms and cabins across from eachother and on the same floor. Things like that make it harder to switch.
