Has anyone ever had a problem after booking two people in a cabin, one a past=passenger and the other not,to get the past passenger rate and then switch to the right spouse upon boarding ship? There is a much better rate for past passengers and since there are friends who are not,was thinking of booking one of each in the cabin and switching.Do they have to take new pictures when you switch and will they give you the right card to get into the cabin?

You can't switch cabins officially. You would have to swap cards which would be complicated for purchases and for debarking and returning to ship. Perhaps a call to a better travel agent who can cut the cost difference down a bit.

This is incorrect information. Yes, you can switch officially once onboard. It is a simple matter and taken care of in minutes at the Purser's office. And yes, people book this way all the time, it is even suggested by Princess CSR's if you book direct.

Booking two cabins additional does not apply to all bookings. It did not apply to cruise we are going on.We have a group going and two couples booked with two other couples and they were worried about switching cabins.Glad to hear it has been done easily.
