Restaurant/Cafe near Circular Quay

Recommended Posts

We always go to Pancakes on the Rocks. It's not gourmet by any stretch but it's quick, easy & doesn't completely blow the budget (as many places in that area can!!!). Plus if you have kids they will love it. It's only about a minute walk from the OPT.

Booked into the Park Hyatt in February any of these places close by?

Circular Quay is a 10-15 minute walk from the Park Hyatt. 10 if you are power walking and 15+ if you are strolling slowly while enjoying the views along the harbour board walk. There are several cafes serving breakfast at Circular Quay - most with outdoor seating where you can enjoy watching the less fortunate catch ferries to work. The rocks area is closer. It is also worth splurging on a late and lazy breakfast at the Hyatt itself - provided they have retained the sunny aspect and harbour views for the restaurant as part of the renovations. If so bag a widow table and enjoy! You could also use the provided coffee maker, add some fresh pastries and fruit and enjoy the view from your balcony if you have a sunny aspect.

I second this. Definitely a cheap option but the food is absolutely delicious and it's a fun experience for the kids. :)

Thanks for the tips. Have you heard anything further about when the Park Hyatt will officially open?

Hi All, we will be staying in Macquarie Street, close to the Circular Quay the day before our cruise on a Sunday. Can anyone recommend a place to eat for dinner. It has to be child friendly as we have our preteen daughter with us. I have been told to look at Circular Quays/the Rocks area, and do we need to book? :)

Pancakes on the Rocks also does dinner. So does City Extra.

The Lowenbrau @ The Rocks is very child friendly. We took our 2 kids there (both under 5). They could make as much noise & mess as they liked and no one cared. The food is not gourmet but you won't leave hungry that's for sure.

No bookings are taken for Pancakes on the Rocks but you can book The Lowenbrau.

looking more for a chocolate crousant and coffee then a big breakfast.

There are a couple of Bakeries with seating & coffee along George St in The Rocks (the street right behind the Cruise Terminal). That would be your best bet for a light breakfast.
