hair dryer question

Welland

Recommended Posts

My memory is that on the Marina there was a hair dryer in the cabin that plugged in. Plenty of power. This was in a PH. I will take a power strip for extra plugs on our next trip and be sure to take a plug adapter.

Thanks so much. One less thing to pack in the suitcase.

Just a note. There is a reason why shipboard hair dryers are not as powerful as the big one you might have at home. The drying factor is really wattage, which relates directly to how hot the dryer will get. A lower wattage dryer seems wimpy. Sometimes the one mounted in the bathroom might be too wimpy, but they will supply a somewhat larger one that you can plug in next to the desk.

That being said, there is a really good reason to restrict outside hair dryers. High wattage appliances can cause the wiring to overheat and start a fire. If they are only supplying lower wattage dryers, they are controlling the current draw, and reducing the risk of fire.

So you make the trip safer for you and those in cabins near you if you rely on whatever the ship can supply.
