big"o" Posted November 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2011 what can we expect of the food upon getting on the ship. should we consider crepe or spa instead?
Rare cruisestitch Posted November 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2011 The MDR will not be open on embarkation day. The Buffet area will be crowded but will offer the most variety, including pizza and pasta and salad bar along with hot entrees, the Aqua Spa will be much less crowded with fewer food options and is not always open on embarkation day, but usually is. The Bistro on 5 has a $5 upcharge, serving crepes and panini. The hamburger grill at the pool is another option.
librarylady19 Posted November 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2011 I would highly recommend Bistro on Five. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing meal there upon boarding Equinox. DH is still talking about the nutella crepe. We are planning on eating here as soon as we board Eclipse next month!
FunCruiser56 Posted November 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2011 We too enjoyed the Bistro on 5 for a very relaxing and wonderful way to start our cruise. We liked it so much that we will do the same this sunday when we board the Silhouette! Bev
AlinaMaria Posted November 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2011 Personally: Bistro on Five is the best alternative for lunch on boarding day. Our experience has been excellent, not crowded, do not have to carry trays while maneuvering amongs hundreds of people, and their dishes are really, really good. Most tables have windows views and is very relaxing. The $5 fee is well worth it! We tried it last year on the Constellation and we are looking forward to several meals at Bistro next month in the Equinox.
