christiecruise Posted November 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Can previous cruisers answer? On the Spirit, can a small party reserve a table for dinner? On the Jade we were told that reservations in the MDR were fondly available or 6 plus. Also, our Spirit cruise is sold out in many categories, can anyone tell me if a sold out cruise means a wait time in the MDR's without a reservation? Thanks so much for your help! garycarla Posted November 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Most of the ships leave full, or very close. It should not impact the dining room. Never had more than a few minute wait on the Spirit. Just after a show lets out can be busy though.
SuperTrooper00 Posted November 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2011 We were only a party of 2, but never had a wait at all on the Spirit. I cannot imagine there would ever be much of a wait as I don't think I ever saw the dining room all the way full.
Toyz711 Posted November 22, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2011 besides there are 2 main dining rooms, windows can get busy..but then we went to the other one and was seated right away. the longest we have to wait for the hostess to return from seating the party ahead of us. rvsullivan Posted November 22, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2011 We are leaving again on the Spirit in a few more days!! We have never sailed on her when she was not sold out. Wait times for the MDR have never been more than 2-3 minutes. Reservations in the MDR are usually for parties of 8+. There are signs throughout the ship showing wait times for each dining venue. Look at those and you will have a good idea of what to expect. Immediately after a show can be a bit of a pain, but still not bad.

Christie Last week on our cruise the Spirit was sold out. We made reservations in the MDR twice. There really was no need to do this other then they granted our table position. Our first seating at 6pm was at the amazing aft, for a table for 2. Our second was at 7pm on the side window for a table for 2. The MDR seemed about half full. We went a third time and didn't ask for a reservation, and got the same window table.
madgolfer3 Posted November 23, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2011 You can make a reservation for 2 for the whole week in Windows. However, not sure what this really means. We had to wait in line (if there was one) to get to the hostess. We then were seated promptly, but so was everyone else.
joaniedee Posted November 23, 2011 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2011 We just got off the Pearl last Sunday. I asked if we could make a reservation for dinner for our party of eight, and the hostess said, No just come down when you're all ready. We never had to wait to be seated, but you always have to go through the line-up first. The longest line-up was at 5:30, as a lot of people were there waiting for the dining room to open. gooch47 Posted November 24, 2011 #9 Share Posted November 24, 2011 Our first night in the Garden MDR, we had an amazing waiter. We thought about making reservations for the whole week just with him, but unfortunately didn't follow through with even asking. Is that possible? Making a reservation with a certain waiter? Fine and Jim Dandy Posted November 25, 2011 #10 Share Posted November 25, 2011 On the Star earlier this year we went to the MDR at prime time. They gave us a pager and said it would be 20-30 minutes. I called Patrick the concierge and he showed up immediately and walked us right in to the empty table of our choosing. The suite life truly is sweet.
