I am not a big reader but I am a big fan of Jimmy Buffetts books (Where is Joe Merchant, A Salty Piece of Land, etc...). Unfortunately I have read them all and have a cruise coming up in Feb. 2012. Anybody have any suggestions on similar books?

Thanks!

I am currently reading the Doc Ford series by Randy Wayne Wright. Doc Ford is a marine boiologist living in Sanibel Captiva, Fla. He is a retired NSA agent/marine biologist who lives at the local marina. The books are a great read full of lots of interesting characters and lots of Fla flair. Here is link to the series in reading order. http://www.thrillingdetective.com/ford.html

James Hall is another great author who writes books that take place in the Fla Keys

Did you read Buffett's "A Pirate Looks at Fifty"? That battered paperback is one of the few must pack items whenever I cruise! I just love the stories in that one. (The only other MUST pack? "Remember the Titans"! Don't ask me why; it's just a family favorite DVD and the boys and I fall asleep to it every night on a cruise! Weird, huh?!)
