dagtoking1 Posted November 30, 2011 #229 Share Posted November 30, 2011 Interesting to find this thread just now because my partner received a letter recently stating his "multiple accounts were combined" which was confusing to us because he has had the same Latitudes number since he joined. When we telephoned he had a new number (the old one was deleted) and he was upgraded to Gold. I was already Gold and had one more cruise to complete to be Platinum but they have me as Platinum; no computer mistake I verified it on the phone. I then looked up the benefits and it says Latitudes benefits are only for cruises 5 days are longer. We are booked on the Sky in February but the last time we were on the Sky we were treated royally being Gold on Latitudes; escorted on to the ship, priority tender tickets, the works. We actually got better treatment on the Sky last time then we did on the Pearl (our last NCL cruise). Has anyone Gold or higher been on the Sky recently? If so, did you get the tour, Bistro dinner, etc.? According to the NCL website they don't even have the Latitudes party anymore on the Sky. That's really taking care of loyal NCL cruisers. Your formula puts me at about 350 points.
BikerAl Posted November 30, 2011 #235 Share Posted November 30, 2011 So, no new levels above Platinum? Not on what I got other than the milestone gifts. I didn't get any info as to what they are.

Davechipp74 Posted November 30, 2011 #239 Share Posted November 30, 2011 since monday is already almost here, lets all start bashing, and complaining the "new" latitudes is not for me, i went down in levels. ;)

Rahi Posted November 30, 2011 #241 Share Posted November 30, 2011 This reminds me of how Celebrity does it a bit. I know they give you two credits for their cc rooms, (concierge room). And to me it makes sense. If someone pays twice the amount for a room , than someone with say an inside room, they ought to get 2 credits. It ought to always be based on price of room, even more so than length , but that's a good thing too!
tokidoki Posted November 30, 2011 #242 Share Posted November 30, 2011 just spoke to my pcc and it should be posted 12/5, she sent me info, it is based on length of cruise, villa/suites and booking 9 months in advance. You get 1 point per day for cruise, 1 more point for booking early, 9 months at least, per day that is and extra for the suites/villas. You need 76 points for platinum, it can ber reached in 4 cruises, 7 days if you book early!!!!
Rahi Posted November 30, 2011 #243 Share Posted November 30, 2011 I don't need my mind put at ease. Please read the post I quoted and what my response was. I was merely stating an opinion based on this whole me, me, me of this thread. Everyone talks about what THEY deserve depending on THEIR circumstances. To answer your "reprimand", people book suites for a number of reason, space, perks, butler, concierge, butt kissing, etc. They pay the extra to get what they want because they can afford it. It makes them no more loyal than someone who cannot afford a suite that sails the same number of times or the same number of days. And I don't want semantics about it not being a loyalty program, that is just rationalization from someone that sails in suites justifying why they might deserve more recognition than others, all programs like this are based on some form of loyalty. IF NCL wants to turn a loyalty program into "kick back" program to reward the people that spend the most money that is their prerogative. I have been Platinum for so many years that I really don't see much benefit at all, other than a couple of free dinners in Le Bistro. I personally derive my perks from friends that I have generated over time that welcome me back aboard their ships with open arms. You said.. "people book suites for a number of reason, space, perks, butler, concierge, butt kissing, etc. They pay the extra to get what they want because they can afford it. It makes them no more loyal than someone who cannot afford a suite that sails the same number of times or the same number of days" The "loyalty" thing obviously isn't working , or they would not have changed things. And about the "butt kissing" comment.. it is not ever about that. It is about making a cruise a bit nicer . And my one room , may be equal to 3 of your rooms, sooo I could have went on 3 trips with them to your one. I think NCL is on the right track! Guess that would be right for us...however I don't even remember which or how many cruises were booked atleast 9 months in advance?? Me too. I thought I had booked all but one of my 5 cruises more than 9 months prior...but when I figured it out it came to 93 points and NCL has me at Gold (which is fine...I am not complaining. I was Silver before the change!!) I guess I just don't recall when I booked the cruises... It's all good. The fun for me is taking the cruises, so I'm more than content. I am very surprised that NCL would have record of when each of us booked those past cruises.

I am very surprised that NCL would have record of when each of us booked those past cruises. I also wonder if they would try to look back to determine when past cruises were booked. I wonder if the extra early booking points will be given for going forward, not retroactively. It would be much easier... If you subtract the early booking points, how many would you have? Somewhere in Gold?
