Upgraded Latitude Levels?

Good work Al - looking forward to seeing you on the Star repo next fall.

`The price of a suite averages double the price of an inside if not more.

So if the price of a suite is double the price of an inside and as a solo cruise I pay double and using that logic shouldn`t solo cruises get two points for each day sailed.

Doesn`t really affect me as I am now platinum with somewhere around 120 days at sea with NCL and more booked.

Cheers

Dennis

We changed from Gold level to Platinum...we have taken 10 NCL cruises. 1 3-nighter, 1 4-nighter, 1-5 nighter, 1 7 night in a suite, 1 8 nighter, 1 9 nighter, 4 others at 7 nights a piece. Love the concept at being platinum! Have been sailing with NCL since 1996!

So, from what I am reading here, NCL will make a mediocre loyalty program even less so by flooding the program with the top level designation and probably over time take away the few perks that were there because of too may people to have to give them to. Way to go NCL. *shaking head*

+1 to this ^^

After 19 cruises, I'm still Platinum, now with so many others ( no offense to the newly elevated).

I have never seen a loyalty program that ignores its most loyal clients so obviously.

You realize how utterly childish that seems??

Like a kid on the playground screaming they want to be the only special one...no one else can.

How are more people at platinum level making your platinum experience any less than it was before????

*sigh*

I guess it depends upon what the Milestone Gifts are for reaching 250, 500, 700 & 1000 points.

I'm happy just getting the souvinir ship pins back........:):):)

I'm almost embarrassed to ask :o

But I will :p, If my wife and I are both Platinum and in the same suite (obviously) does that mean we each receive a two-fer at Le Bistro ?

That would be nice.

I already feel guilty...

No offense taken by this newly elevated Platinum. I will have 110 points, and I am pleased NCL is acknowledging the loyalty of people who love longer cruises and/or pay for suites.

I am sorry you are disappointed and feel ignored. Really though, you should look at Celebrity's Captains Club before complaining about lack of opportunity for advancement; their top tier is only 10 credits (which can be reached in as little as 4 cruises in a glorified balcony cabin). I like the Captain's Club benefits, but there is currently no way to advance. FWIW, they still have loyal cruisers.

LOL....Yes you do both get dinners for 2, and you each get your own bottle of wine.

You also both get a free bag of laundry. :)

Seeing how many posts you have, I would assume you travel a lot. Perhaps I am wrong.

Airlines, hotels and casinos reward your patronization for your dedication to their product and reward you with perks that many others do not receive. It part of the loyalty game. Like frequent upgrades to first class on flights. Get them often? I guess not.

With my interpretation of NCL's new "loyalty program", it is like taking a long slog up a steep mountain and when you get to the top you realize that everyone else took the elevator to the top.

I almost forgot: *sigh, burp*

It is, will be, what it is and after all is said and done just be happy you can be here worrying about what you may lose or hoping to gain something remember we are lucky, we like and can afford to cruise. I’m not saying the perks I receive I don’t enjoy and look forward to but it’s not a show stopper. I’m still Gold and I’m ok with that. If I cruised only one cruise line l would have a suite named after me. Cruise and enjoy:):):)

"Long slog up a steep mountain?" Is that how you fell about your 19 cruises? really? wow. My worst cruise has never reminded me of a slog up a mountain, steep or otherwise.

Some loyalty programs let people buy their way into higher tiers (and apparently for some short time, NCL did, too). I can understand how those who "earned" it might feel, but the business makes the rules. Still, if somebody pays big bucks for the elevator ride while I get there my own way, how am I hurt?

It's a metaphor, dude.

It sounds like sour grapes and it is. Giving people with a quarter of the points we have earned (based in this new system) the same recognition, makes that recognition meaningless and does not reward the loyalty of their most loyal passengers.

Not trying to whiz in anyone's sand box. If this had happened eight years ago, I'd have been as psyched as everyone else here...
