One-way cruise to Mexico?

Is there any such thing? We're planning on some long-term travel in central America starting in January. Just comparing cruise vs airfare travel prices....

Similar to a transatlantic cruise!

And whether a fly back/over to/from US

Its a great idea! I've thought about also.

A fellow passenger and now friend from Texas

with us took earlier May 2011 TA Vogager - Galveston to Barcelona.....

and six months later Nov 2011 met us in Rome

and came back with us on Mariner.

He spent 6 months traveling around Europe in between!

What a way to start and end a vacation!! I love it!!!:D

Check your repositioning cruises! See 90 day ticker on internet!!!

Believe one just sailed from Malaga Spain to Colon Panama this week.

And it was cheap! Obviously not sold out.

They may be bringing her back to somewhere in Europe or to states in May 2012.

Try finding her!

I believe you can take any cruise that stops in Mexico and just stay in port. My bigger hesitation would be that ships will skip ports if conditions are bad, so there is a possibility you wouldn't make the port you wanted to debark at.

But I'm sure you'd still be paying for the full round trip fare on the cruise, even if you didn't return on the ship to your original port. I doubt if that would be very economical.

Also, I wouldn't just get off in a port and not come back without making sure the cruise line knew of your plans...that would raise all kinds of problems! But then, I suspect they'd wonder what you were doing if you got off for a shore excursion with all your baggage...:)
