Questions regarding booking a cruise

Hi, I am thinking of booking a cruise next November. I have been looking at the Freedom ship out of Florida. Why when I go on RC website and check the dates for the cruises there is only Nov. 4, 18 & 25th, nothing listed for Nov. 11th which is the date I would like to go. The ship wouldn't sit out for a week would it?

Also I know it is good to book as early as I can, but I am not sure of who will be traveling on this trip. Right now it is my dd (13) and myself, my older dd would like to come but I will not know till much later whether she could come (we would all stay in one room), also dh says he isn't coming but I bet he will change his mind. Am I better to book the two of us and add the others later or the other way around? Also I just pay a deposit with the remainder paid how much later?

Thanks!

Freedom is chartered the week of Nov 11, 2012 for a clothing optional swingers cruise.

Whatever you book, I'd book all 4 passengers so that you get the cabin you want. You can remove people with no penalty up to final payment, which is 75 days before the cruise.

Hello! Let's see if I can help here. Your choice of Freedom of the Seas is a good choice. It is a very nice ship and I have been on it twice. As far as the Royal Caribbean website not showing an itinerary for your specific date one of the reasons could be that the ship has been chartered for a private group or function, another possibility is that the ship could be in drydock for maintenance, or it could be sold out already (which is unlikely as your date is almost still a year away). One suggestion I can make is that you could go and consult with a local travel agent where you live. Travel agents can sometimes figure out what is going on easier than you can. Talk to a travel agent and go from there, either have the agent book for you or get what information you can and go back to the Royal website or you could even call Royal Caribbean directly and ask one of their travel specialists what they can do for you. Good luck.

Hi clarea! Looks like we were typing our replies at the same time. A clothing optional swingers cruise cruise:eek:! I don't even think I would want to be on the sailing after that one! By the way, I was looking at your past cruises and noticed that you have sailed on all of the different classes of ships in the fleet. That's pretty impressive!:D

Thanks everyone! Swingers cruise - I think I will pass on that one!!

At my dd's school, they have been having the week around our Remembrance Day off so it would be good that she wouldn't have to miss any more than a day or two of school. That is why that week is the one for us.

I also thought that ship because of its port, I was thinking of going to Universal Studios for a day before or after the cruise and it looks to be very close by (both dd's are huge Harry Potter fans). We did go on the Mariner last year and loved it!

So if that ship is not available that week I might have to think of another port in Florida and rent a car to go to Universal Studios or pick a different time of year and let dd miss school? Would love to go on the big ships someday but probably cannot afford it next year.

One more question - is Hurricane season over by mid November?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi again! The next closest port that would be close to Orlando is Tampa, Fl. It would be on a smaller ship and for 4 or 5 days. Tampa is about a 90 minute drive from Orlando so you could fly into either airport and then rant a car. If you were really wanting a bigger ship and one with the Dreamworks features for the kids you would have to go out of Ft. Lauderdale on the Oasis or the Allure. Ft. Lauderdale is a much longer drive from Orlando I think 3 to 4 hour range but if that is doable for you that might be your ticket! Good luck again!:D

Also the Atlantic hurricane season starts June 1 and goes through November 30, so this years hurricane season just eneded yesterday.

Thanks, we've been very fortunate.
