Transportation from SFO airport to hotel

Go with the Supper Shuttle, cost around $15.00 p.p. with tip vs $50.00+ for a cab. The only problem with the Shuttle is you may get to see more of SF than you planned becasue Fisherman's Warf is the last stop.

SFO has an interesting dispatch system for shared shuttles. 3 or 4 companies share the same 'island' You can simply ask the first one the rate and how many stops. You don't have to use SS but many of the others are quite good and much more reasonable than a taxi. I've never had many stops and I always have stayed at FW

If I was going to take a shuttle,I too would take Super Shuttle.

All of this boils down to how quickly you want to get to your hotel, how many are traveling with you and how much you want to pay.

If two are traveling it's going to run around $30.00 or possibly more (just go to http://www.supershuttle.com to get a price quote versus around $50.0 for a cab so the price isn't that far off and the shuttle may take quite a bit longer with stops.
