Last minute ES advice

Recommended Posts

A week before my cruise I saw a pack and go rate that was lower than my early saver fare. I applied and then never heard back. I e-mailed carnival a couple days before my cruise and still never heard back. On my second to last day at sea I noticed a $90 credit to my folio on the TV. I asked guest services about it and they said that Miami e-mailed the ship to apply the rate adjustment to my room. It was a non-refundable onboard credit. Was anyone going to tell me about this before the cruise ended? I was a little annoyed from a customer service standpoint that no note was delivered to my room regarding the credit (my balance was already about zero due to a credit from a missed port and the cancelled pre-paid excursion).

So my advice is to always check your folio if you think that you might be owed a rate adjustment. I should have just cashed it out at the casino but I ended up treating myself to some jewelery instead. ;) I could have followed up further with Guest services about it but I didn't want to waste cruise time dealing with something that wasn't really a negative issue.

You actually made out pretty good. Usually if they allow you to match to a pack and go, you have to give up your room and find out later what your new room will be (which could always be in a crummier location). they've been behind on processing ES adjustments so it probably wasn't cleared until you were already headed to the ship.

This is nothing to complain about......

Since pack n go are gtys and you dont qualify for the rate .. I cant see why you are complaining they allowed you to price match to a lower category than the rules allow for.

Most people I know check their S&S account some time during the cruise and you would have seen it then if not on your edocs or billing tab on your online account.

You're really not supposed to be able to claim against garentee rates, but then again I have made claims in senior rates/different state resident rates and been approved so good for you. I think alot depends on the individual who's reviewing the claim.
