Is the sun still strong this time of year?

We have only been to the Bahamas in late spring and summer. Of course the sun is very strong that time of year, I'm wondering if it is the same in December consider the temperate is so cooler.

 

We will be there next week. Also, if anybody has any tips for cheap beaches in Nassau, please post! We usually rent a room at Atlantis so we can use their facilities, but we are trying to cut back for this quick getaway.

The sun is at its lowest point - still considerably higher than in most of the US. Should reach about halfway up the sky at noon, similar to a spring day. Unless there is a big cold front coming off the mainland, temperature should be moderate. Sunburn is still possible.
