Sandals in Sydney for the month of January?

I am in sandals now, and Jan is usually hotter. We have been having weird weather lately, with quite a bit of rain and a few cool nights. Jan, Feb, Mar are hotter than Dec. Our thongs are quite cheap to buy over here (the foot variety...lol), so that is also an option. You will still need sandshoes if doing lots of walking, or in case it is wet.

I find sandals and Sydney streets, especially if you are doing a lot of walking are not a good match - dusty if dry and we do get sudden rain showers in January - more are predicted for this summer. Canvas or otherwise flexible walking shoes are a better bet.

Will be in Sydney 4 days Feb 17th.Would like to take a one day tour to the Blue Mountains. Is it warm or rainy that time of year? Would it be vrey crowded over the weekend or should we wait to go after the weekend?

Feb/March are traditionally our hottest months, so yes it will be warm. It is also the height of our bushfire season. As for rain, probably not, but our weather has been odd here lately. The mountains should be less crowded at this time as it is not during school holidays, ie week days or weekends are fine. You will totally enjoy seeing this area.
