Have a couple of questions on back to back cruises

Thanks for letting me know that we don't have to take our luggage off the ship. I am so relieved. I had this vision of myself, my elderly mom, and my two kids standing on the dock for hours with our suitcases:eek:

We are first time cruisers, and don't really know how anything works. Thanks for the voices of experience.

Happy you asked!!!

Relieved you of a vision that was darkening your excitement of your cruise.

Please ask away...... any more questions.

For me, the next best thing to cruising HAL is talking about it. :)

Turnaround day will be a whole lot easier for you than you expected.

Yes -- we have sailed quite a bit on HAL -- but we know very, very few HAL crew. Many times we recognize no one on a ship.

But then we don't hang around the lounges either.

Yes. I recall you mentioning you purchase bottles of liquor for your cabin enjoyment.

But surely you go to the parties, don't you?

Don't you meet Officers/crew/staff at the parties?

I wonder why some people think they are special and don't need to follow the process. They should have made her wait until everyone else was on board before she was able to get back on the ship.

Inexcusable and unacceptable.

There should be a penalty of some sort for keeping so many people waiting out of their own self-important behavior.

We have been told many times that on the first cruise they are not able to make the reservations for the second week because the computers have not been activated for the next cruise.

I can see why that would disappoint you.

Sorry that happened to you.

At the suite welcome party the officers rarely move away from the door -- so you don't get to meet them. Sometimes people from the boutqiues or art gallery stop by to talk -- but we don't buy anything on the ship. Most times after the captain, HM and CD have met the majority of the people -- they are gone!! And sometimes duties prevent them from being able to come.

We meet a couple of people -- but never see them again.

And that is how it was done in most of our BTBs. However, on our last one we had one woman who felt that she should not have to leave the ship and then re-board. I guess it took some time to "convince" her because we all waited a much longer time then normal.

Finally we saw her escorted to customs and then we were all allowed back on the ship.

And we have never had to attend the second life boat drill.

Lucky you!!
