MisterBill99 Posted January 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2012 We were in St. Martin on Silhouette on Tuesday 12/20. When we arrived, there were two ambulances on the pier with NCL Epic and Disney Magic. Does anyone know what happened? I asked in the Epic roll call thread and got no reply and the Magic thread isn't active. There was also police activity that may have been related to Silhouette. gtaylor Posted January 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2012 I subscribe to the local paper, The Daily Herald, and they didn't report anything about such an incident. gary
MisterBill99 Posted January 7, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted January 7, 2012 Interesting.. I'm pretty sure I have photos of the ambulances if you'd like to see. Would the local paper usually cover problems on arriving cruise ships?
gtaylor Posted January 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2012 Would the paper cover it? Well, on the 22nd there was a Front Page story with large photo covering this incident: Jet ski capsizes, woman rescued by security guard GREAT BAY--A Sheriff security guard helped to save a young woman who fell off a jet ski watercraft Wednesday afternoon. The young woman was riding in Great Bay with her stepfather when the jet ski capsized. Wednesday’s wind caused the water to be extra rough. <snip> Police arrived on the scene to take a statement from the pair. Both were clearly shaken, but needed no special medical attention. No ambulance was seen at the scene. gary

In this case, it was something that happened en route. Much less worthy of coverage, unless it was something really interesting. Someone posted this to the Epic board for that cruise, where I had also posted: I know we had a medical issue and someone was going to get treated and sent home. I don't know the details. I just happed to be by guest services as they were making plans to fly home.
