comps in casino

I agree that it doesnt hurt to call. I called and the gentlemen on the phone told me I didnt qualify for a credit but someone from CAS left me a message and said I did. Luckily I played the message for him and he knew who it was. To make a long story short I started out in a mini suite and upgraded myself to a penthouse in the haven and its still costing me less for this 9 day cruise than it did for my last 7 day cruise and on that cruise I was in a regular balcony.

Enjoy!!

Okay it's late and now I'm totally confused. I didn't know that when I went there on the last night and they looked up my play and saw that I had 3600 so they gave me $36 credit on my account that I would be back at 0 the next cruise? I really hope this isn't true as they didn't tell me this and I would never have done it. That means after all this time getting my points up that high I got $36 and a couple drinks? I would have kept it for the next cruise for the drink card.

As said by many earlier. The points for a drink card are NOT deducted. so, cashing in your points are not any issue.

You get the drink card by reaching 1500 on your current cruise, or by being invited by CAS.

For the person that will drop $200-$300 for an entire cruise, do not count on getting much. That is small stuff for them.

I tend to play $25 - $50/ hand at non-BJ tables...that is, the various poker games (UTH, 3 card, Let it ride, etc.).

I spend 4+ hours on average, per day.

Thanks for the details. Those are similar to what I play in Vegas but I start @ $15/hand and go to $75/hand if winning frequently. Unfortunately, the wife won't let me stay in the ship casino for 4 hours/day like I would in Vegas with the guys (more like 8hours/day) but that doesn't really get you much in Vegas. Maybe a comped $100 steak dinner or two is about all I have gotten so this sounds pretty good.

How do you leverage points for a comped room? It sounds like you have to execute the future travel while onboard generating points. Did you ask about a future cruise room comp the last day of your sailing?

No, you do not have to do this on the ship. The points you have earned on the cruise will establish your level of play for CAS. When you're ready to book your next cruise, do so through CAS, not through the regular NCL reps or a TA.

They will look up your play history, and make you an offer. Don't be surprised if the offer is less than you might expect, because it also depends on the ship, itinerary, how sold the ship already is, and the number of rooms CAS has available to deal out.

We typically take the CAS offer, and then pay the difference to upgrade to at least a Penthouse suite, if that hasn't been offered. Sometimes it is...as I said, it varies.

Remember that your points expire in 18 months...I don't know if that means the record of your play is erased or not. We've never let 18 months go between cruises!!

  • 2 weeks later...
CAS levels are in the middle of changing right now, but in the past it has been 7000-8000 points in a year to move up to Bronze level, which doesn't really offer much - usually one specialty dinner and free cigarettes in the casino. The next level is Gold, at 40,000 points in a year, which waives the 3% fee for cash advances against your on board account, and likely a few extras. Lately, they have needed to check with your previous ship to add up your total points - I have no idea why. This last cruise I was given a purple card, and the host called my last sailing to confirm Bronze level. First time for that!

CAS is definitely the best game in town, though, and they have done right by me! :D

I was doing a search and came upon this thread...I just realized that on my May cruise I had a gold card...wondering why..as I while I do a lot of slots in 7 days --I am not a CAS big time gambler..but have booked with them last few cruises..

I received nothing extra during the cruise..

Wondering why I had a gold card ..

It's just because they are changing the program and the logo and are burning through the old cards. I had a platinum one last time and wondered the same thing.

Has this happened to anyone.

I decided to let my points (12,000+) roll over to my next cruise in January. When I got my final bill on my cruise that ended the first week of May, there was a $40some credit from the casino that said seabucks. I went to the front desk and they said they did not know what it was and the casino was closed. When I got back home, I called CAS and they said they did it automatically (I did tell the casino I was rolling them over). Well that is not the real problem, they said my balance was well lower than the $120 less $40 = $80 should have been, I think they said I had $36. CAS said they would call me back, but I haven't heard back from the and it has been weeks.

Why let them roll over? We always cash them out. Money now is worth way more than money later.

Hasn't happened to us, but we may not be the best to ask, as we never let our points roll over. We're usually not sure if our next cruise will be within the 18 month time limit (before the points expire), and we want all the credit from the casino that we can get against our current bill.
