pbs14 Posted January 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2012 Hello! We'll be on the Adventure in March and are looking at a Celebrity cruise in 2013. Can I book on board? If so, what are the benefits? Thanks!
Puffinater Posted January 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2012 Yes you can. I am not sure of the benifits.
M&M Hayden Posted January 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2012 Benefits are reduced deposit and OBC depending on length of cruise. Don't know if they still do this, but we also got an 'upgrade'....booked at C3 price, got a C1 cabin.
KeywestK Posted January 6, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2012 We booked our Celebrity cruise while we were on RCI, got the reduced deposit and OBC. And they still do offer the upgrades.
Madsofa Posted January 6, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2012 We booked our upcoming RC cruise last February while on Celebrity. We had a reduced deposit and an OBC - no upgrade was offered.

Cigar King Posted January 6, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 6, 2012 What is the difference between c3 and c1 on Celebrity? FWIW, we are looking at a veranda, are there typically upgrades offered there as well?

Gonzo70 Posted January 6, 2012 #11 Share Posted January 6, 2012 What is the difference between c3 and c1 on Celebrity? FWIW, we are looking at a veranda, are there typically upgrades offered there as well? Huge difference depending on whether it is an M-Class ship (their older class of ships) or an S-Class ship (their newer ships). On M-Class ships the C1's are aft and have MASSIVE balconies (about eight times the normal size). There are also a handful of C1's sandwiched between suites near the aft and these have large balconies (about six times normal size), slightly larger interior (several inches wider) and nice teak material for the balconies. C3's are the Concierge Class staterooms in less desirable locations and have normal sized balconies. On the S-Class ships the C1's are aft, but the aft balconies on S-Class ships are not that special. They are no deeper than normal (though some are a bit wider) and sometimes soot falls on them. They are also a long way from the nearest stairs. Many prefer C2's on the S-Class to C1's (C2's are generally at or near mid-ship and some, those on the slanted portion of the hump, have balconies 2x-3x larger than normal). C3's on S-Class are those on the side of the ship with less desirable location than C2's and all C3's have normal sized balconies.
pbs14 Posted January 6, 2012 Author #12 Share Posted January 6, 2012 We are looking at possibly the Celebrity Summit, 7 night...it sounds like we could get a reduced deposit, obc and perhaps be upgraded from Concierge 3 (C3) to a C1???? Am I understanding this correctly? Hoping!! Thanks everyone!
Cigar King Posted January 6, 2012 #13 Share Posted January 6, 2012 Thanks...so a C is a balcony class cabin, yes? BTW, we were thinking about the Panama Canal. I know Royal offers some there as well, but, their times are not as good for us as the Celebrity ones.
