I'm just interested to know if having booked a guarantee cabin [ inside] and been allocated one do further allocations or upgrades happen?

If so how far away from the date of travel?

 

I should say we are happy with the cabin we have been allocated in any event - am just curious to know.

It can happen...but don't hold your breath! The upgrade fairy is quite they mystery!

you can always call and pay to upgrade to another class. But once you are assigned an inside cabin, that is it. I recently asked to have my reservation returned to the gty pool but they said they could not do that (even though the regular inside room price dropped to the same as the gty).

You've already been assigned a room, correct? In that case, no there will be no further upgrades. You can try and see if they will throw you back into the pool, but you might get a cabin that is in a less desirable location.
