shopril Posted January 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2012 Will be driving from Fort Myers to Port of Miami next week. We are snowbirds ;) have IL plates and no SunPass. The GPS has us driving over on 75 to 595 and then south on 95. Was wondering if we will have tolls and are they the new cashless? Any help would be appreciated. mrpayroll Posted January 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2012 75, 595, and 95 are not toll roads.
shopril Posted January 13, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted January 13, 2012 Thanks. I knew I could get an answer from CC friends. Mapquest stated parts are tolls, I think it must mean the express lanes.
Rare Oviedo32765 Posted January 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2012 Here is a link to roadways that comprise Florida's Turnpike system:http://www.floridasturnpike.com/about_system.cfm
mfeenker Posted January 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2012 I-75 between Naples and Ft Lauderdale is a toll road and have maned toll booths and as mentioned I-95 express lane is tolled.
hermitstyle Posted January 13, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2012 Alligator Alley is tolled - $3.00 I think (I remember when it used to be free) - and if they plan on going cashless like the rest of the Florida Turnpike system, that will not be in effect until February 19th, so you would be fine. 595 and non-express 95 are not tolled. You would incur another toll if you stay on 75 when it turns into Gratigny Pkwy around the Miami Lakes area
