I got a mailing yesterday with up to 25% off any cruise booked between now and Feb 29th - with travel before 9/30/2012 and a nice chunk of casino $ to spend.

Perfect timing - I was just looking at a cruise for early spring.

It says valid for sail dates between 12/31/2011 and 09/30/2011. Not valid on previously booked cruises, new booking only.

I wish they would send me an offer. Lord knows I have invested a fortune with them over the years. LOL... Good for you and happy planning!

Just wondering are you signed up for the Ocean Players Club?? I think it is still called that:confused:

Nice offer....I cannot figure out why I don't ever get any offers or casino cash. I know I drop quite a bit of $$$ on the slots everytime I cruise.

The most I've ever gotten was a fruit basket & wine.

I only just started getting casino cash on my last 2 cruises $75 on a 7 day and $50 on a 5 day. I've received casino cruise notifications before but never one like I got a few weeks ago for the March 4th Mexican Riviera cruise. It had $450 in casino cash , special cocktail parties and really good prices. I already have the Magic booked or I would have done that.

I may give Michael a call and see if I can work something out for the Conquest cruise. And if not, I may just have to book a 3rd cruise for 2012  because I'm definately cruising on the Conquest........hmmmm maybe the late May timeframe...............:p

I am signed up with the players club.....last cruise (in Oct 2011) I had my drinks on us coupon by the 2nd day....LOL so, I know I'm laying some cash down! I did however drink free for the rest of the cruise which was a nice perk.

Not really sure how the club works.. but have heard lots about it.. in 10 cruises I have spent $60 in the casino:eek::p But how I wish they would offer me free drinks, discount cruises or cash money for bookings.. for my bar bill :D

so now i'm curious about how much one must spend in the casino to qualify for such perks. i didn't think they offered much so i never messed with being rated...although in vegas i will always make sure i do this. i just thought CCL was cheap (through other people's experience)

is CCL getting better about rewarding their customers in the casino, as in the past, people have told me you must lay down tons (thousands) to qualify for a free drink. is this true/not true?

I'd rather spend a couple thousand in Vegas...but if i'm gambling AND can earn a nice cruise discount....it's worth reconsidering.

Any ideas on what one must spend to qualify...how the rating works onboard?

Thanks,

We got the same cards, hence, Alaska here we come! You use the fun select rates so it varied depending on the cruise if the 25% was a deal or not when we checked the cruises out. Either way you can use the casino credit! Happy cruise hunting OP!

How much do you have to gamble for this offer? For us, we went on 1 Carnival cruise, probably gambled about a grand, but I did win back to back $300+ dollar wins on the same slot machine, 2 nights in a row! We ended up DH a bit down and I made a couple hundred bucks at the end. In a weeks time we probably spent 10 hous in the casino.

I spent a couple hundred on my June 2011 cruise, won most of it back. Not even enough to qualify for the free drinks.

  • 2 weeks later...

I got an offer Friday for $550 casino cash and other benefits so we booked it yesterday.

As far as what they look for, i play the slots and video poker about $150 a day. sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. My wife plays blackjack and three card poker about the same amount and she does not get anything.

We were recently in a local casino and the pit boss told us that you will get a lot more perks playing the machines rather than the tables, not sure if this is true but it seems to be based on the fact that I got the offer and my wife did not.

It looks like you got the offer we did. Mine is $700 and DH is $550. It is a tri-fold flyer in a red envelope. Did you have to book one of the 5 cruises listed on the letter? I can't do any of those. I was going to call this morning, but I forgot the letter at home. Thanks, I just hate waiting until I get home, thought maybe you would know.

Can somebody tell me do you specifically have to sign up for the players club, like fill out paperwork or something or are you automatically in the Ocean Players Club if you use your s&s card in the slots in the casinos?

I believe it is automatic, I never signed up for anything. We started getting the offer letters about 2 years ago.

Booked a cruise for July through Carnival using a casino rate I saw offered when I was looking for summer voyage. Saved $60 off per passenger, this offer was calculated to be $60 off the Early Saver rate. I called and booked with cruise consultant. Four days later I received a $100 casino cash certificate and my husband received a $50 casino cash certificate.

Attached was a letter that says call to book a cruise and receive up to 20% and casino cash, book by 2/29/2012 sail by 9/30/2012 . I am a little perplexed. There are two certificates one attached to each letter, and one for each of us with our name, past guest ID, Player ID a Serial No. and Accounting Code, and it says call to book. On the back it says guest must bring the offer certificate and present it at the casino cage for validation to receive casino cash.

My question? Were these certificates randomly sent and I just happened to get them four days after I booked at a casino rate?

Are these casino certificates part of the casino package mentioned in the letter (didn't know about the casino cash offer, didn't ask) and were sent because I booked (hoping this is the case):D

or

The certificates are valueless unless I book another cruise (it says not valid on previous bookings)

Any clarifications or insights would be appreciated.

We booked the july cruise and the person said that it was limited to those 5 cruises, but you might as well try. Who knows, you might get a different answer.
