Anybody done Los Veranos in the afternoon?

We are wanting to do the canopy tour in PV, but are thinking of doing the 2 pm time. Does anybody have advice on that? Most of the posts I have found talk about people going in the morning. However, we want to eat lunch on the ship and we thought if we went in the afternoon we would have some time in the morning to explore PV before the canopy tour. Is the morning better or why is that so popular with people? Our ship is in port from 9 am to 9 pm. Thanks for any advice!

Remember 2 pm is about the hottest time of the day.

Mornings are more populair because of that. Of course it also depends on the season or month you will be coming.

There is no exceptional reason to do Los Veranos in the morning other than the excitement of the moment when arriving in a new port.

One possible attraction to a specific morning time slot, for some people, is the "free" transportation from a pick-up location relatively close to the port. All others taxi/bus it to the Los Veranos excursion office on Vallarta's south side.

Total excursion time, from the excursion office, is roughly 4 hours. (1.5 hours round-trip to the excursion site, 1.5 hours on the ziplines and an hour thrown in for time lingering at the excursion site and possible travel delays due to road construction on the way to/from the excursion site.) Travel time between the port and the Los Veranos office is dependent on your mode of transport and what you choose to do after you get back to Vallarta from the excursion site.

Spendor's time in port supports going to Los Veranos at just about any time of the day.

Enjoy!

We will be there in February. Will it be too hot?

Last year, for the month of February - Avg high of 75, Avg low of 57 with a mean temp of 66. One day high of 86 with one night low of 53. Afternoon winds appear to have been between 10-15 mph.

2011 weather data is here: http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/MMPR/2011/2/1/MonthlyHistory.html

Enjoy!

  • 5 months later...

We did LV in the afternoon and it was quite humid, but no complaints here. Lots of shade and makes it much more enjoyable to jump into the cold water when you get to the bottom, followed up by a quacamole margarita! Probably be less crowded at that time too which would be a plus in my opinion. I don't see any reason to no go at 2 pm. Have a blast!
