Towel on the sand - shade? Orient Beach

We went to Orient Beach about 10 years ago and are having a hard time remembering if it would be possible to park ourselves on the sand with our towels instead of getting chairs. We won't be staying a long time and prefer to move up and down the beach rather than staying in one spot. Do people do this? Are we likely to find any shade from trees, etc?

You will have no problem finding a place/places for your towels rather than renting chairs..Enjoy !!

If shade and being close to the water in order to keep an eye on your stuff is important you might want to consider renting chairs and an umbrella.

Not a lot of shade on the beach - when they rent, it is usually 2 chairs with an umbrella.
