chillinvillian Posted January 25, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Looking for suggestions for the best spot on 7 mile beach to hang out for a few hours.
runner15km Posted January 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2012 For full service facilities look at Royal Palms, SeaGrape or Tiki Beach club.

Puffinater Posted January 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2012 We have visited Royal Palms on our last three trips and had visited Sea Grape previously. They are very similar and both very nice.
Frenchkiko Posted January 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2012 We were just there in early January. We took a cab to the public part of the beach and hung out a "Bar Gril" for a few hours and it was great. The cab was $2.50/each. The service at the bar was wonderful and you sit a couple feet away from the beach. If you are looking for less "resort-y" ideas, this might be the way you want to go. You can get buckets of Caybrew and sit in the shade and enjoy the view.

crisvow Posted January 30, 2012 #9 Share Posted January 30, 2012 Sea Grape is very nice. They have bathrooms and bar/food plus loungers & umbrellas to rent. Not to mention they have water sports you can pay to do as well. Tiki Beach was very very crowded. we took a walk down the beach. We were on Royal Caribbean and Tiki is the beach the cruise ship takes excursions too. Sea Grape was crowded as well but not as bad as Tiki. There were 7 ships or something in port on the day we were there! We got there early & got a front row seat :-)
CarolRoy Posted February 1, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 1, 2012 We take the public bus to Cemetary Beach. It's about the last stop on 7 mile beach. No facilities. But not crowded at all. If there are maybe 20 people there, it was a lot. We always stay here then walk down the beach towards the port. When we get too tired, we then catch a bus to the port. Just walk out to the street and hail a bus. They will stop for you. Carol 2012 – Carnival Conquest – Feb. – W. Caribbean 2011 – Westerdam HAL – Dec. – E. CarolRoy Posted February 1, 2012 #12 Share Posted February 1, 2012 To catch a bus (more like a mini van), just walk outside the cruise terminal. Don't cross the street and just hail a bus (mini van). Cost is $2.50 pp each way. We take the public bus to Cemetery Beach. This is like the last beach stop. Tell the driver you want to go to CB. CB is few miles north of port and about 15 munutes away. When you are dropped off at CB, you will walk down a sandy path next to the cemetery to get to the beach. The beach is on the backside of the cemetery and pretty much deserted. It has a small marine park right off the beach. Snorkeling is close to shore, the water is calm and clear, there is a lot of shade here. But no restrooms or food. We spend a few hours at Cemetery Beach then walk back towards town on the beach. If we get too hot or too tired, we then leave the beach and catch a bus back to town for the $2.50 pp. We will do the same again in Feb. 2012. You can ask the driver to drop you off anywhere along 7-mile beach. Royal Palm ($2.00 Entrance Fee) is a nice area with a bar, restaurant, and rest rooms. If you get dropped off here and it seems too crowded, just walk up the beach a few minutes and it will be less crowded. Or get dropped off after Royal Palm and beach it here. You can always walk down to Royal Palm and use their facilities. 2012 – Carnival Conquest – Feb. – W. Caribbean 2011 – Westerdam HAL – Dec. – E. We may also be interested in parasailing - do you remember if there was anywhere near this area to do that? Thanks.
