If I don't drink, don't go to specialty restaurants, don't use the spa, and don't need any jewelry or anything else from the gift shop, what do I use my $550 OBC for if I can't use it in the casino or for tips? A previous poster was right! They moved the goalposts.

Well, better to have it than not!!:) I can always find something to buy in the shops.

But you are correct. If you don't spend onboard, its useless really. Force yourself if you have it!!!:D:D

NCL has been handing out some generous OBC....

I'm fine with the fact that it cannot be used for the dsc (I would have had to pay it anyway)....I will have a good time with it!! Dinner, drinks, shopping maybe even an excursion if one looks good...

My question is....

1. Can it be used to purchase FCC? (we usually get atleast 1 per cruise)

2. Can it be used to purchase duty free alcohol?

If not, I'm fine with that too.....It would just be nice to know ahead of time...

And please don't flame me.....BUT...I cannot believe the number of people whining about not being able to use it for dsc....are you really that cheap??? Cruising is such a bargain vacation and $12 A DAY FOR GRATUITIES for all the service you receive is also a huge bargain....You would pay wayyyyy more for a 7 day vacation if you had to fly somewhere, pay for a hotel (AND TIP THE HOUSEKEEPER), rent a car or pay to taxi around (AND TIP THE TAXI DRIVER), meals (AND TIPS) and entertainment............SO WHY ALL THE WHINING????

Because on other cruiselines and, on this previously, it could be used for the grats!!

Alcohol probably yes, as you can use it in the shops, FCC probably not!!! But who knows, you may get away with it.
