Has the prediction the world will end this year, affected your cruising decisions?

It's a bit silly but a little fun to comment and play along that it will end, probably having the same feeling like we did back in 1999 with Y2K. I wonder if my parents still have those 25 lb bags of beans in the basement... :D

 

I did see though that a gentleman here on CC purposefully scheduled a cruise to set sail right before the End of the World, so he could at least go in peace while on a cruise. Brilliant. :rolleyes: To each their own...

Absolutely not.

 

I was just promoted to pilot on the Boeing 777 right before New Years 2000. And I had the privilege of flying from Copenhagen to Atlanta overnight. I can't tell you how many people were visibility freaking out that we were flying over the new year and seeing me... a very young looking 41 year old pilot of a plane that holds 300+ people.

 

Bwahahahaha, thanks for the giggle. See, everything turned out fine...and I'm sure you did an excellent job (and still do!) :D

We were a little worried when we booked our Feb. 2013 cruise to Australia. My agent though assured me that if the world ended in 2012, ….we would get our deposit back!

So we feel better now. :o
