Delta Dear Posted February 5, 2012 #26 Share Posted February 5, 2012 I LOVE your review and the beautiful photos. I'm anxious to read the rest. Happy Birthday, 40 is just the beginning ! I lived in Detroit before you were even born, LOL and used to have family in Grand Rapids. Loved the state of Michigan, even though I am from Ohio. (But since I am an OSU Buckeye, I can't say the same thing for the U of Michign, LOL.) I just love reading reviews even if I have no plans for the ship being reviewed. Keep the posts coming ! shonandsuzie Posted February 5, 2012 Author #27 Share Posted February 5, 2012 You wont believe this but I didn't take pictures on our sea day. (Scratching my head). It was the day of our Meet and Greet's "Slot Pull" and the first formal night so you would think I'd have tons of pictures from around the ship. But I dont. :(:o:confused: Although we love the southern itinerary, we LOVE sea days the most and we certainly don't get enough on this route. For our only sea day, we thoroughly enjoyed the Serenity deck all morning. It was tough to find a spot when we first got out there but after a while, it was nearly empty. So I guess, my advise would be skip the crowd and go out in the early afternoon when everyone has sunned it up and had enough. Our slot pull was huge LOUD fun. We didn't strike it rich this time but we were rich with fun and excitement. We shared dinner with our new friends Jim and Rosemarie from our CC roll call and laughed and talked for hours. Most people were pretty dressed up all over the ship and the lobster tails were plentiful! Expecially for Shon who had " a few". After dinner, we then hit the comedy club. It was a miracle because we were sooooo sleepy. We LOVE the comedy club idea on the ships and prefer the comedy shows over the big production shows. sooner33 Posted February 5, 2012 #29 Share Posted February 5, 2012 Great review, Quick question , we are sailing the same cruise on Oct 7th , you mentioned that you were in 7272 and it was very loud ? My GF and myself are in 7269 but her parents ( first time cruisers for them ) are in 7274. Should we move them ? We too like to be near elevators and stairs and understand there will be some noise , but you mentioned you needed to use ear plugs. That kind of worries me for them ? Thank you for your time and once again great review
shonandsuzie Posted February 5, 2012 Author #30 Share Posted February 5, 2012 In Barbados this time, we initially planned to go to Lobster's Alive for the beach. We did this on previous visits. It is right next door to the Boatyard Beach Club on Carlisle Bay beach . Talking with roll call friends onboard though, we realized it may be a better deal to do the Boatyard. All in all it probably is about the same, financially. The boatyard was $12 for a drink, lounger, umbrella and cab ride back to the ship. The ride there was $4/each. The drinks were pretty strong and somewhere in the day things got crazy and they started pouring shots in everyone's mouth for free tto! BTW, we had the cab driver from hell going to the beach here! He called me and Jim fat. I am fat clearly, but really, who says that and then still expects a tip?! He was rude to eveyone on the mini van taxi. pafam4 Posted February 5, 2012 #32 Share Posted February 5, 2012 The Conrad hotel looks awesome!!! We're looking for a hotel for pre-cruise on the Victory this summer. This looks like a winner!! Thanks!
shonandsuzie Posted February 5, 2012 Author #33 Share Posted February 5, 2012 Somewhere after the drinking frenzy, Shon and Jim time warped and start swinging and jumping from the Boatyard's pier rope! It was great fun to watch and they even gave the other guys (and girls) the courage to try, too! Then Shon started clinbing things.... and then dancing with random people on the way to the ship afterward.... You have to love fellow cruisers! So fun! The day in Barbados was awesome! I did overendulge in the sun a bit but it was fantastic! BTW, that sun issue will be visited again in the next few posts....

darth frosty Posted February 5, 2012 #38 Share Posted February 5, 2012 What a great review! Can you tell me your smuggling technique? Are they more relaxed now at security? They left from san juan PR and from what I read you can take alcohol aboard and their is a store right there you can purchase alcohol from. bunny1954 Posted February 5, 2012 #42 Share Posted February 5, 2012 Thanks so much for this review. We're on this cruise in October to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and are getting our first suite. We're in 7315 so will be a little farther away from the main elevators than your suite. We're also staying in the Condado area but in the Radisson. Joyce Congratulations on your 30th wedding anniversary. We celebrated ours last year. We will be getting off Victory as you guys board. Jeffn57 Posted February 5, 2012 #47 Share Posted February 5, 2012 We have cruised out of PR on the Victory before. We did it with a group of 26... Wife and I enjoyed a few Rum punches at the Boatyard ourselves, what a blast that place was. My wife really enjoyed the rope swing (ha damn near broke her neck) after a couple of those RP's... We need to do that one again I guess!

shonandsuzie Posted February 6, 2012 Author #49 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Sorry for the long break. I have to share this; this afternoon we had to make a quick trip to our local casino for their Sunday drawing. We didn't win this time but before our cruise, I had a feeling that we might win and had to drag Shon to the casino because he thought we were wasting our time and money. Well, we drove there that day and guess whose name they called?????? MINE!!!!!!! And I won $6000. So today we lost $100 bucks but we could have won a car! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Now back to regularly scheduled cruise review posting..... Because lord knows this boring football game is not getting my attention. I am watching the commercials though!;) Lol. Great review, Quick question , we are sailing the same cruise on Oct 7th , you mentioned that you were in 7272 and it was very loud ? My GF and myself are in 7269 but her parents ( first time cruisers for them ) are in 7274. Should we move them ? We too like to be near elevators and stairs and understand there will be some noise , but you mentioned you needed to use ear plugs. That kind of worries me for them ?Thank you for your time and once again great review Well, for starters, I use ear plugs all of the time when I sleep because I can hear like a super hero. But in regards to this cabin location, even Shon could hear everything. He said you could hear the people in the hall just like they were in our cabin all day long. It may have just been a problem with the door or something. I am sure not everyone in that area had that much noise, they would have had complaints up the wazoo. gapearl Posted February 6, 2012 #50 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Another awesome review from you! You guys look like you have a lot of fun. I'd love to be on a ship with you one day. I can't believe the cab driver called you fat in Barbados! You are not fat. Just think P-H-A-T. lol :) Oh, and happy birthday! I still have quite a few years, but 40 will be my next big milestone birthday.
