pappy3393 Posted February 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2012 Can you walk from the cruise dock to Nyhavn? How far is it and what is the suggested route? Is it better to take some form of transportation?
Danish viking Posted February 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2012 You can walk along the harbour and the walk is around 2 kilometres and can be done in around 20-30 minutes. Along the way you will pass by the little mermaid, Kastellet fortress and Amalienborg Palace. Bus number 26 will take you directly to Kongens Nytorv at the button of Nyhavn. MeHeartCruising Posted February 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2012 It's a very nice walk if you're up to it and the weather is nice. Lots to see along the way.

Giantfan13 Posted February 6, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2012 We walked the route and loved it. Copenhagen is just a marvelous city to walk in, so much to see. We docked at Langeline and walked to Nyhavn, did the Canal Boat tours, spent some more time in this area, then went back to Amalienborg Palace to view the changing of the guard ceremony. After that we walked to Town Hall Square thru the Stroget. A very easy city to do a walking tour. You can also write to the the Copenhagen tourist bureau and request some maps and info. they will send you some terrific maps with walking tours on them. Most of the main sites in Copenhagen are in a compact area. Here are a few of my pix of this wonderful city for you to enjoy. Docking at Langeline, you are minutes away from Copenhagen's most visited site, the Little Mermaid who stands guard over Copenhagen harbor http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe212.jpg From here you can walk to Nyhavn, passing the Marble Church along the way http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe239.jpg At Nyhavn, you can just wander around or do the Canal Boat tour which is highly recommended http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europemaster248.jpg If you wish you can walk back to the Palace for the Changing of the Guard ceremony http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe233.jpg Walking into the heart of the city at town Hall Square, you can tour the town Hall if you wish http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe326.jpg Not too far from this Square is the Rosenborg Castle where you can tour the grounds and Rose gardens of tour inside and see the Crown Jewels http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe340.jpg Hope this helps a bit Super Bowl Champs NY Giants Cheers Len
