cavetubing in belize do we need bug spray?

My husband and I did the cavetubing.bz excursion just last week. The mosquito sightings were not bad at all, but I did see one mosquito land on someone in our party. Her sister smashed it and killed it on her shoulder.

Anyway, mosquitoes usually love me, but I was sure to wear some bug spray and did not have any bites whatsoever. So I'd say to wear some bug spray!

I think it depends on the time of year. When we were there last year in September, we had absolutely no issues when we were in Belize on the cavetubing tour. But, that's not to say that you won't have any. So, to be on the safe side, I would definitely take it and spray it on prior to getting out of the van and walking in the jungle.
