Kids Embarking at a later port

Has anyone ever done this? We were planning to have my parents bring the kids to the ship at the second port (our home town) to embark there - so we can have a few days before the cruise and the first few days of the cruise by ourselves as a celebration of our 14th wedding anniversary...

Wondering what the cruise line's view of this would be?? we are going with RCCL...

It's best to call RCCL. It would probably work, but I haven't heard of kids boarding at a different port from the parents.

You need to see if this can be done. The reason is, there are some rules the cruise line has about boarding the ship at the port of embarkation. Something having to do with cabotage laws and all that. You should call the cruise line and get their take on this. Good Luck !!!
