We have two reservation booked, but need to cancel one soon. We will be arrival to MIA at 7am. Which location is better? We will not be renting a car.

Courtyard Marriott Downtown

Comfort Suite North Miami Airport (we got a great deal on this new hotel).

I am not familiar with the airport hotel. Have you checked with both hotels to verify that you can check in at 7:00 AM? Most hotels will not allow guests to check in that early, and many will delay you until at least after noon or sometimes 3:00, or will try to charge you for an extra day. :(

The downtown hotel will at least have shopping and dining options within walking distance. Good luck! :)

The Comfort Suites is off 36th St. between Doral and LeJeune Rd. Not much doing there. With the Marriott Downtown you can walk around Bayside, take the free MetroMover to Mary Brickell Village, or a relatively short cab ride to South Beach.

Downtown will give more opportunites to spend the day. I too would easily choose that one.

If you arrive early and your room is not yet ready, the hotel will store your bags and you can use the pool, walk to Bayside or whatever. You can pick up a water tour there. We always pack clothes at the top of our bags or in our carryon to change into to fit the weather for the day if arriving early. Most hotels will take your cell number and call when your room is ready if you are anxious.
