After the show, we had some ice cream and my boyfriend had pizza and we hung out in the Serenity area. My boyfriend donated $10 to the casino in the span of 10 minutes and decided that he'd never go back there. LOL. We had dinner in the buffet and then watched the Physical Comedy of Max Winfrey. He did a lot of comedy. We were then able to catch three comedy shows in the Butterflies Lounge, which is actually on Deck 1, which is where our room was, so that was always convenient. Next up, Port Canaveral, Florida!

We ate breakfast on the Lido Deck and then got off the ship to go on our Airboat and Alligators shore excursion. This was actually my first time in Florida! Here are some pics of the port:

Here is a kitty we saw. I called her the port kitty. :D

After the airboat, we got to eat complimentary alligator nugget things. My boyfriend was grossed out, but I gave them a try (even though I've very picky when it comes to food). As the saying goes, it tasted like chicken! :D

Just as we were getting ready to head back on the bus there was a big rain/thunder/lightning/wind storm. We RAN back to the bus. Once back to the ship, we boarded and were in the MDR when we felt a vibration. An announcement came on saying that the gangway had actually separated from the ship! Some people who were coming back from later shore excursions had to wait to reboard while they tried to fix the situation. After the 85 knot wind gust, they dropped the anchor, as per protocol, and then the anchor got stuck! The mechanism that winds it up was malfuctioning. After returning, I came across a blog that was written by our assistant cruise director, who was actually one of the people waiting to reboard. Here is a link to her blog:

So, because of all this craziness and the delay in leaving Port Canaveral, the captain made an announcement that we'd have to skip Nassua and go directly to Freeport for an overnight call. I was SOOO bummed! :( I had been looking forward to Nassua and we had booked a shore excursion for that port, too. They refunded us for that excursion and everyone onboard ending up getting a $25 onboard credit for the inconvenience. I thought that this was nice. I mean, really, it's not Carnival's fault that it was windy!

We ate breakfast on the Lido Deck and then came back to the stateroom. I told my boyfriend I wanted to go to the shore excursions desk to book an excursion for Freeport. Right before we left the room, he hugged me from behind and said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I said "that's good." LOL. I was too busy trying to figure out what to do in Freeport when I then noticed him pulling out a small box. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I started hysterically half crying/half laughing. Then my eyes were so blurry I couldn't see the ring through my tears. I squeaked out a yes and grabbed a tissue to dry my eyes so I could see the ring better. So, in stateroom 1209 on the Pride in the Atlantic Ocean will always hold a special place in my heart! We then booked a shopping, lunch and beach tour for Freeport.

This was the original day we were supposed to be in Freeport. Our tour started at 8:45 a.m. The first stop was a little fruit market on the side of the road. This is my favorite pic I took of the market:

After that, our bus driver, Solly, took us on a tour of the town and also to a place called Millionaires Way which was where the mansions were.

A mansion

This wasn't with the other mansions. This the the castle like mansion that apparently the guy who owned a bunch of fast food chains (like Burger King) lived.

The weather in Freeport wasn't that great. It was a little sprinkly. But at least it didn't pour and it wasn't boiling hot. Next up are some pictures of Port Lucaya Marketplace, where I got my "shop on." :)

Here I am holding a local weekly paper from my city. They like to put photos of people who travel and pose holding their paper.

We watched Vroom, which was a show with songs and dances through the decades. We wanted to go to the comedy show after, but it was standing room only.

On the last night, we watched the Carnival Legends Show, which featured fellow guests. During the day on the last day, we attended a Ship's Life Q&A in the Starry Night Lounge, which was pretty interesting. It was there that we found out that the cruise director and the assistant cruise director were an item! :)

For my last post, I will post a few leftover pics. The first two are from the Chocolate Buffet, which I missed! I had grabbed like one cookie from it and then went back for more later and they had broken it down already. It was on the last full sea day.

And here are two casual shots we got done. The first one we used for our engagement photo in our local paper!

And for my last shot, a rainbow I saw from the ship on the way back to Baltimore.

And the pot of gold at the end of this cruise is getting to marry my fiance on May 12 AND heading on our second cruise for our honeymoon!! We will be boarding the Carnival Freedom out of Fort Lauderdale in May. CAN'T WAIT! Despite the weather and missing a port, I had THE best time on the Pride and I can officially say (and my fiance can confirm) that I'm addicted to cruising! Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Congrats...how sweet! And I love the purple shirt with your new ring...very cute!

Thank you so much! Purple is my favorite color. And the ring is actually a necklace now. It broke a few months after the cruise when I was drying my hands in the bathroom at work. I got an equally beautiful replacement and plan to wear the necklace with the original stone at my bridal shower and rehearsal dinner.
