monicajay Posted February 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2012 Tonight (Sat) it left at 8:30. Every weekend it is the last ship to leave. Many hourspast the time that is listed with the port. Greg Poesia is only scheduled to leave at 7pm, later than all the other ships. Many of her clients come from Europe on international flights arriving the same day. If one of the flights is late and is carrying many Poesia clients, it is easier to wait for them. When I traveled on the Poesia we left at around 9h30pm as we waited on a group of 46 arriving from London. We still arrived at Key West, our first port, right on time. Crown Vic Posted February 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2012 We're on the Norwegian Star with you in March. Looking forward to hearing, first hand, about your experiences on the Poesia. Enjoy...
PBC29 Posted February 18, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2012 For reason said above the international travelers flights aren't always early in the day. So they wait as its a major demographic for MSC cruises. On feb 4th we were doing our muster drill at 5:15 and a large groups of german and french passengers walked straight through with luggage as they had just gotten onboard. Even at dinner at 6 we could see afew buses arriving dropping off large groups of passengers I think we finally got out of port alittle after 8 but with 2 sea days before any port stops it didn't matter much to us.
