  3. Just used Carmel as well LGA to Red Hook. Price was U$60.50 plus tip. Good service. Would use again. Cheers…
  4. On registering for a recent MSC cruise, had the ‘usual’ IT problems. Telephoned MSC and was answered by a representative in Jo’berg, South Africa. Within minutes, had all the necessary boarding documentation sent directly to my e-mail inbox. Easy peasy. Try telephoning. Good luck…
  5. An improvement over the steam television we had in my youth. Made Muffin the Mule all wet…
  6. Last month, Carmel Limo from LGA to Red Hook Cruise Terminal was U$60.50 plus tip. Cheers…
  7. Usually very interesting but keep an open mind about the title ‘Officer’. Have had dinner with ‘Officers’ from the Children’s Program Supervisor to the Casino Manager to Deck Officers to the General Manager. Depends on who has ‘volunteered’. Enjoy!
  8. On the Sun, mentioned our anniversary and requested a cake, cup cake size, with a candle (if possible.). Be careful cuz what we received was a 12 inch, beautifully decorated chocolate gateau. Impossible to eat it all and, even after eating a coupla slices, it was too large to fit easily into the fridge so we offered it to the room steward. After dinner, when we returned to our cabin, there was another similar, very fancy cake, this time vanilla with colourful roses etc as decoration. Took photos without tasting the cake and then asked our room steward to take the cake to the crew buffet which he did. Feel special? You betcha! Cheers…
  9. Just remember... 'Bean counters rule the World'. Cheers...
  10. 👍…congrats. Wonder when the t-shirt will be available? Cheers…
  11. Fish and chips in the UK are better cuz the fish is different, the spuds are different (good ol’ King Edwards) and the oil is different. Add in the authentic atmosphere and voila. Don’t forget a pint of Old Speckled. Plus ‘memories’ of such things improve with age. Starting to feel peckish? Cheers…
  12. Just posted under the thread ‘Luna bookings’… Hope NCL does not advise folks to ‘tick’ the box for the Luna…hence making it a “Luna-tick”…Cheers…
  13. Hope NCL does not advise folks to ‘tick’ the box for the Luna…hence making it a “Luna-tick”…Cheers…
  14. On my transatlantic 4 1/2 day run, the average speed was over 34 knots. Rough weather was not much of a deterrent for speed. Of course the ship was built to be ‘requisitioned’ in time of war. Believe aluminium was the metal of choice. Notice the spelling. Was told the only wood on board was for the Wheel on the Bridge and a ‘cutting board’ in the galley. Cheers…
  15. Fish and chips wrapped in newspaper. Good memories! RIP News of the World. Cheers…
  16. Perhaps with Kilbeggan if you are so inclined…Eirinn go Bragh…
  17. Hmmm! After several visits to the buffet, it is best to say that “the salt air causes clothes to shrink in the wardrobe”…maybe. Cheers…
  18. Ah! Baked beans on toast… 👍…the quintessential English delicacy… yum! Cheers…
  19. Sailed on the SS United States during ‘the day’. Crossed Southampton - New York City in 4 1/2 days in a First Class cabin. Pity the ship was not used in the same way as the RMS Queen Mary, now in Long Beach, California, or the ss Rotterdam now in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Great memories. Cheers…
