Watching the ships sail in

We are staying at the pier 66 the day prior to sailing away. I understand if you can get a tower room that faces the port you can see the ships from the hotel!

Any idea what time the ships start coming in on Sat AM I would love to wake up early and watch them come in?

Any suggestions on the hotel would be nice as well.

While all the ships leave Port Everglades one after the other (between 4 pm and 6 pm) I don't think they arrive in as orderly a fashion. I know I have a condo in Pompano Beach (about 11 miles north of Port Everglades) and got up one night to get a glass of water and saw a cruise ship (it was so spectacular with its lights ablaze I actually forgot about the water and watched it sail by) around 2 am -- they were definitely going to be docked well before 6 am. Arrival time depends on where they are coming from (distance) and how fast they are going.
