varying with how much of a wait there is at security

wait at security? wait for what at the port this year we stopped at a small guard station for like 30 seconds even with 10 cars ahead of us to verify we had tickets and passports. The meter clicked more at stop lights then it did at the guard station. Although our hotel this year seems it was much further away than Embassy suites will be.

A cab fare from ES to the pier should only run about $10+tip so if there are 2 or more of you a taxi is more convenient than a van-shuttle.

You have to sign up for a time slot in advance at the ES concierge desk for the shuttle....it has limited space and like putterdude said, a taxi may be more convenient.

Its a contract with the hotel, just for the hotel, and is a van. If you go over before 12 noon, contrary to other comments above, it doesn't get much easier. We signed up the day before, but walked up a few minutes early. The concierge waved up the van, put us and another couple in, and we were at our ship in 10 minutes. And this was a Sunday, when the hotel was jammed with cruisers, and there were 8 ships in port.
