Another WIFI question

Ok, so you have to pay normal WIFI rates to use your own laptop, but can you get your access code and use it on your balcony?

You can use your laptop anywhere on most ships... if it's within range of the wifi signal. You login with your first/last name, cabin number and password that you set. Has always been fine for me to login to wifi with my iphone or laptop or ipad, depending on what I have with me at the time...

 

Anyone else have a different experience?

I found that using the free internet that is everywhere in port was enough for me.

 

Every Margaritaville had free internet. It was never a problem finding a spot to use my tablet.

 

But to answer you question, there is no way to know if the signal will be strong enough on your balcony.

Carnival has bow to stern wifi, so unless you are far aft or forward it should be fine.

The WiFi access points are in the corridors, so the signal is strongest in your cabin. It tends to weaken considerably out on the balcony. I have found that it works great on some balconies, and not so great on others.

You can use it anywhere you can get the signal. The locations vary depending as much as anything, on the wireless adapter in your laptop, some are better than other.
