Celebrity Equinox Day 6 - and Dailies

Day 6 and we are arriving at Puerto Limon or the Port Lemon! This is the capital city of the Limon province in Costa Rica. We're exited because the last time we were here it rained from the time we arrived to the time we left - today is a bright sunny day and we are looking forward to a fun day.

Dailies and photos as always are presented for your review at http://www.proszowski.com

I don't have a shopping guide today. This port is much more dedicated to local crafts in the form of a multitude of free form stalls and canvas covered independent shops which line the exit of the port by foot. It is a worthwhile visit if you are interest in very local shops versus your typical "Diamonds International" found in most other ports. It is not that far of a walk from the ship, depending on how much you have walked that day.

Our tour today was to the sloth sanctuary, because we have been in this port before and had already done the canopy tour. If you want to experience a truly unique creature and learn about its life ad times in the rainforest, I would highly recommend it - but very much like the sloth, this tour id not fast and exciting, it is more slow and interesting.

We had a lot of fun with this tour. Keep in mind that going to a nature reserve will be laid back and focused on the featured animal. If uniqueness counts, this one is fun.

Back on the ship tonight, we really had a special treat. Having been on the Equinox before, we don't remember this being offered, but it was a wonderful event. To take advantage of the lawn on deck 15, there was a sail away picnic and wine tasting. (This is actually offered on multiple nights at various ties - keep your eye out for it). During our event, multiple blankets and pillows were spread out on the lawn complete with (electric for safety reasons) candles and wine buckets. The String Trio entertained while the sommeliers insured that wine and cheese and crackers flowed while a sail-away was enjoyed under the stars, on the lawn while listening to classical music selections. It was a wonderful way to unwind from the day and get ready for an evening of fun and dining on the ship.

OK, so this evening we decided, rather spontaneously to go to the Tuscan Grille again. We went with bowed heads later in the evening and approached the Maitre'd and asked if they could squeeze us in - Buena sera and of course - enjoy your evening!

Thank You so much for your journal of your cruise and all of the pictures and the dailies. We are on this cruise in a few weeks and this is helping to add to the excitement of it!

I have a question re the sail away picnic, is the charge just based on the wine you purchase and/or is there an additional fee? This looks like a really nice way to relax after the day.

Our charge was totally based on the wine we purchased plus the customary gratuity which is always built in. Cheese / crackers / pillows / ambience were all included. Now I don't know if that may change in any way in the future, but since Celebrity makes enough on the vino, perhaps they will not inlude a cover charge in the future either.
