A cruise or an All Inclusive Vacation?

One more "con" to an AI over a cruise ship. My wife has M.S. and uses a wheelchair but can walk for short distances. Also because of the M.S. she needs to use the bathroom ever hour or so. At an AI distances can be long and bathrooms few and far between. On a ship everything is a relatively short distance and there are lots of bathrooms.

Plus we can drive to Galveston for a cruise. Flying today is a pain, I think.

I am also wondering about Carnival Cruises specifically out of New Orleans, I've heard good things and I have heard horror stories... being from the south with my extremely large close family I'm trying to do a honeymoon on a cruise and invite the fam.... New Orleans is the closest Port to everyone.. Its either that or an all inclusive vaca.... What do ya'll think.

Sarah,

I haven't been out of New Orleans before, but out of NYC, we haven't had any problems, knock on wood. They have secure parking at any port you go to. They charge for parking as well, but in the long run, it's worth it.

We have not had enough of Barbados and I've been there twice now on cruises. We are considering an AI there for next year instead of a cruise. Anyone have any experiences with the ones specifically in Barbados?

If it were up to me, I'd stay at Little Arches. It's not an AI, but it is one of the finest places to stay on earth. We just loved it!

  • 1 year later...

Looking for an all-inclusive with top shelf alcohol such as jack Daniels. Looking for beautiful beaches, nice rooms and good food. A casino would also be nice for evening entertainment. Any suggestions? Want something that is casual- don't mind evenings for long pants or dress shorts for men but nothing "stuffy". Thanks for any advice. Willing to spend extra if worth it.
