teacherman Posted March 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2012 We will be docking at Crown Bay and plan to take the water taxi over to Water Island (Honeymoon Beach). On YOUTUBE, it shows that there are places to get food and drinks, but people have said "no" there is not. Has anyone been there recently and can answer this?? We will be there on a Friday in about 3 weeks.
Ms411 Posted March 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Timing is everything. Heidi's Honeymoon Grill may not open until noon. Joe's Beach Bar may not open until noon. If you can't wait until they open, buy snacks/ drinks at Gourmet Gallery at the ferry dock to tide at Crown Bay you over.
bjtomko Posted March 6, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2012 I was just there on March 1st. As mentioned in the first responders post, there are two places that offer food but both are not open all day. I believe we got to the island around 11am and they were already in full service mode. kendon Posted March 6, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Go prepared and bring your snacks. Water Island is okay, possibly over rated, but check it out all the same. I have seen Carnival booze cruise excursions pull up late morning...need I say more?
skip1948 Posted November 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2013 Is it worth it to rent a golf cart?:p? We will be there the second week of Dec.
runnergirlcinci Posted November 19, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 19, 2013 We rented bikes on Water Island last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. They were mountain bikes and we just rode around the island. A fun way to spend a few hours and then go to honeymoon beach before heading back on the water taxi. satbeachbill Posted November 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Where would you rent bikes or golf carts on Water Island? The 2 times we were there, no one was around the landing or post office. We'd be interested in renting something. Thanks
runnergirlcinci Posted November 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 21, 2013 We used a woman that ran a business called Water Island Adventures. She has a website. Very nice woman. I'd say the bikes are in 'decent' shape (not great but good for riding around an island). We loved it!
