Princess Cruise Bankok to Rome thru Egypt..Help!

In 2004, Princess offered the above cruise which went to a port near Luxor, Egypt and through the Suez Canal. Since I had already scheduled a long cruise in 2004, I decided to wait for the 2005 version. Ooops; bad mistake. Princess didn't offer a cruise going to those ports in 2005. Does anyone know if Princess will be offering this cruise in 2006? Is there any other cruise line that might sail to Egyptian ports? Thanks for your help!

P&O, Princess' former parent and now sister line, usually sends at least one of their ships, and sometimes two, through the Suez, on their world cruises.

 

In 2006, Aurora sails West from Southampton, Jan 7, and transits the Suez on Mar 20 en route back to Southampton. We considered the leg from Singapore, Mar 5, to Athens, Mar 22, but are putting it off to another year.

 

Oriana departs Southampton Jan 8, and transits the Suez Jan 19, arriving Singapore Feb 4. We also considered that leg.

 

It has been rumored that Pacific Princess (new) might assume the Africa itineraries that the old Pacific Princess used to do, and that might include a transit of Suez. I inquired about 2006 on Pacific Princess just a couple of weeks ago - but they said schedules would not be out for another 6 weeks or two months.

Ah yes - but that cruise does not transit the Suez, merely stops on the Med side.

 

I believe the original poster indicated a desire to go through the Suez.
